Innovative software solutions
For over 25 years, Barthauer Software GmbH has been developing innovative software for infrastructure management and water management. The company’s main product is the database-driven infrastructure management system BaSYS.
In order to connect users of its software, understand their needs, and improve their user knowledge, Barthauer hosts the annual BaSYS User Conference, which took place for the eleventh time this year on June 15 and 16.
In order to maintain the personal character of the conference while also complying with the requirements surrounding the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the organizers decided to hold a purely virtual event using the innovative conference tool SpatialChat.
The cooperation
The long-standing business relationship between BARTHAUER and the i-unit group gave rise to the idea of involving experts from the i-unit group in the event in the form of a guest contribution. The idea quickly took shape: our IT company, cit networking, is ideally suited to make a contribution at an event on infrastructure management and software.
The BaSYS User Conference
Denis Seefeldt and Michael Rode from IT specialists cit networking, part of the i-unit group, gave a presentation on cloud and security solutions to around 150 participants. The focus was on the joint project “BARTHAUER Cloud,” a private cloud solution that is now up and running. The speakers also addressed the ever-relevant topic of “Security – Pitfalls and Solutions.”
In workshops, participants received tips and tricks for the BaSYS system and were able to apply them to practical examples. The breaks during the event were used for questions and discussions with the experts.
The conclusion
Denis Seefeldt and Michael Rode’s conclusion: “The event was very well organized, and the content and practical examples presented were very well received by all participants. We would be happy to participate in another event of this kind.”
